You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of DeFi by designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems for our developer platform.

What You'll Do (Your Mission)

• Be a key individual contributor on projects while also leading technical initiatives of moderate to high complexity.
• Offer valuable insights as a peer during design reviews and code reviews, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Create high-quality, secure, and clean code that forms the backbone of our DeFi solutions.
• Drive the regular launch of new features, bringing impactful capabilities to our users and ecosystem.
• Continuously improve our software development and delivery processes, enhancing efficiency and quality.
• Coach and mentor other engineers, contributing to their professional growth and elevating the team's overall capabilities.
• Empathize deeply with our customers and users, ensuring our solutions meet their real-world needs.

What We're Looking For (Who You Are)

• A software engineer with 7+ years of experience successfully solving complex distributed computing problems.
• A versatile generalist capable of designing and building entire systems from the ground up, including:
• Relational or Key-Value Data Stores
• Distributed Event-driven Architectures
• Cloud-based deployments, preferably with AWS
• External-facing REST/HTTP APIs
• Proven experience leading small to medium-sized technical projects (2-4 engineers).
• Ability to tackle ambiguous and large-scale problems, research cutting-edge solutions, and apply technology appropriately while making informed tradeoffs.
• Driven by shipping high-quality code with a strong focus on delivering maximum user and business value.
• Experience as part of teams that maintain business-critical, high-volume, customer-facing applications, ideally SaaS or API platforms.
• Up-to-date on emerging threats and trends in application security.
• A genuine passion for DeFi and its potential to improve people's lives.

0x Developer Platform Tech Stack

Our team primarily works with:

• TypeScript Node/Express
• Rust
• Linux
• GitHub
• AWS Cloud Services (including Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, etc.)
• Grafana LGTM Observability Stack

Preferred Qualifications

• A solid understanding of blockchains, specifically EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) chains.
• Experience working with JSON-RPC APIs to interact with blockchain nodes for tasks such as querying blockchain data, sending transactions, or monitoring events.
• Experience with Web3 libraries (e.g., Web3.js, Ethers.js, Viem) to build and test blockchain integrations.
