At 0x, we're building the infrastructure for the decentralized exchange of value, and we're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be a foundational part of our team. You'll be the ultimate data guardian, establishing high standards for data hygiene, driving product decisions, and advancing not only 0x but also our growing ecosystem and the broader Ethereum community through data.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in enhancing data accessibility and usability across 0x. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with our Data Team, Product Managers, and other Engineers to ensure data effectively drives decision-making.
• Developing and maintaining efficient, scalable ETL pipelines for both real-time and batch data processing to meet 0x's evolving data needs.
• Contributing to the development of 0x Data APIs, focusing on scalability and security to support internal and external applications.
• Building and maintaining data observability processes and standards to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Championing a culture of innovation, exploring new technologies and methodologies in data engineering and blockchain.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation to enhance data management and analysis efficiency.
• Mentoring team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team environment.
• Developing and operating data-centric APIs that internal and external customers rely on.
• Staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to maintain 0x's leadership in crypto data practices.
• Naturally forming and testing hypotheses against large datasets to inform product decisions and company strategy.
• Sharing and presenting your findings internally and externally, tailoring your communication and visualizations to resonate with diverse audiences.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• 1+ years of experience with Ethereum or Solana blockchain data.
• Proven experience building and operating highly available data pipelines.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or other data pub/sub systems.
• Strong foundation in Data Modeling and Architecture.
• Familiarity with programming (ideally in Python and/or TypeScript/Node/Go, but we’re flexible).

Bonus Points

• Experience with AWS (or Microsoft/Google Clouds).
• Prior experience analyzing, cleaning, and preparing reports with blockchain data.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.
• Experience building and maintaining Data APIs for internal and external users.
• Experience deploying projects using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL (or other RDBMS) and Clickhouse (or other Analytic Database/Platform).
