The Brokerage Product team at Alpaca is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Product Manager to spearhead the definition and execution of innovative new product initiatives while strategically managing a portfolio of our existing brokerage offerings. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of brokerage features, from initial ideation through successful delivery, working in close collaboration with our talented engineering, analytics, design, partnerships, and numerous other cross-functional teams across Alpaca.

Things You'll Get To Do

• Own the Brokerage Product Vision: Take full ownership of Alpaca's suite of brokerage products, driving their strategic direction and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Define and Execute Product Requirements: Author comprehensive product requirements documents and work closely with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure successful program execution and high-quality product delivery.
• Drive Brokerage Product Strategy: Lead the development of the brokerage product strategy by conducting thorough ROI analysis, in-depth market competition assessments, and insightful build-versus-buy evaluations.
• Enhance Brokerage Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities and drive the implementation of solutions to improve the efficiency of our brokerage operations, taking ownership of key performance metrics and driving positive change.
• Contribute to Product Roadmap and Strategy: Play a key role in shaping the broader product roadmap and contributing to the overarching product strategy for Alpaca.
• Lead Customer Insights Initiatives: Conduct and lead customer calls focused on brokerage processes and product-related issues to gather valuable insights and translate them into actionable product improvements.
• Engage with Regulatory Bodies: Participate in crucial calls with external regulators to inform our product strategy and ensure seamless execution in a compliant manner.
• Provide Timely and Accurate Reporting: Report regularly and accurately on product status, key milestones, and performance results to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Undertake various ad hoc duties and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Who You Are (Must-Haves)

• A genuine passion for Alpaca's mission to revolutionize financial services and the innovative products we are building.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical foundation.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Engineering roles, and/or experience in founding or leading a startup.
• A demonstrated and keen interest in the Brokerage industry and the broader FinTech landscape.
• Proven experience in effectively analyzing data using SQL and a relevant Business Intelligence (BI) tool.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and navigate trade-offs between various stakeholder needs and technical feasibility within defined time and budget constraints.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)

• Direct experience and a strong background in working on and developing Brokerage products.
• A technical background with hands-on experience working with APIs.
