Description
As a Sr. Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in building a cutting-edge platform technology that enables customers to seamlessly connect their Kubernetes metrics from their preferred observability platform. This high-impact project will involve developing a framework to pull metrics from leading observability vendors, providing customers with deep insights into their Kubernetes cluster spending drivers.What You'll Do
- Architect and build a robust backend capable of querying leading observability solutions (e.g., New Relic, Datadog).
- Design and implement a data pipeline to effectively transform retrieved data into the client's proprietary internal data layout.
- Rapidly prototype and evaluate various technical approaches to solve complex integration challenges.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Management team to deeply understand the desired outcomes and user needs for this new feature.
- Onboard and mentor other engineers as promising technical approaches are validated and the project scales.
In order to succeed in this position, you will need
Mandatory Skills:- Advanced English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Python Expertise: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Python development.
- Backend SaaS Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience building backend systems for a B2B SaaS company.
- AWS Proficiency (Lambda Focus): Strong experience building on AWS, with a preference for significant experience with AWS Lambda.
- Observability API Integration: Proven experience programmatically retrieving data from leading observability solutions (Datadog or New Relic preferred).
- Kubernetes Fundamentals: Proficiency with core Kubernetes concepts and constructs.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to undertake international travel up to 10% of the time, based on business needs.
- Time Zone Flexibility: Comfortable with some overlap with the US East Coast time zone.
- AWS Experience and Certification: Hands-on experience with a broader range of AWS services and at least one AWS certification.
- API Development Experience: Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs.
