Halcyon aims to deliver groundbreaking anti-ransomware solutions. We are seeking an experienced Principal Kernel Engineer to enhance our Windows agent's prevention, detection, response, and remediation capabilities. This role will drive enhancements across multiple product domains, enabling Halcyon’s product to better protect customers from ransomware.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to define new product features and drive them from concept through design, coding, testing, and release.
• Drive customer-facing and performance investigations, translating learnings into high-quality code through new features, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Develops high-quality, multithread-safe C++ code in both kernel and user modes.
• Develops high-quality Rust code or demonstrates a strong desire and ability to learn Rust quickly.
• Has shipped at least one production-quality Windows NT driver.
• Strong knowledge of Win32 APIs and NT kernel internals.
• Debugs memory corruption issues and improves end-to-end system performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly collaborative with a strong ability and desire to mentor and inspire others.
• Practical professional experience in successfully managing ambiguity.

Bonus Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with Portable Executable format and reverse engineering.
• Experience with Windows Mini-Filter drivers and Windows Filter Platform callout drivers.
• Experience with SQL/Databricks and developing automated telemetry.
• Familiarity with tools for Rust/C++ interoperability.
