Description

We're looking for a talented VFX Artist to help bring our game world to life and clearly communicate critical gameplay information. You'll be instrumental in defining effects, pipeline, and performance targets, ensuring our visuals are not only stunning but also highly optimized. You'll work daily with a small, multidisciplinary team, collaborating to strike the perfect balance between engaging gameplay and captivating visuals. As an early member of our team, your contributions will be crucial in shaping the visual direction at Raid Base and bringing our game to reality.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the art team to create high-quality in-engine effects.
• Establish the quality bar for VFX in the game.
• Create and iterate on VFX that effectively support the art direction.
• Develop VFX assets for a wide variety of content, from characters to world atmospherics.
• Work as a key contributor, supporting design and engineering to achieve gameplay goals.
• Assist in the development of the content pipeline, from content tools to in-engine setup.
• Foster a healthy, creative, and team-oriented studio culture through collaboration and leading by example.

Required Qualifications

• Experienced game developer with a track record of shipping games.
• Possess a broad set of game development skills to support working within a small, multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated proficiency in VFX ranging from 'stylized' to photorealistic techniques.
• Resume/CV detailing your skills and experience.
• Portfolio showcasing relevant artistic skills and critical thinking.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in multiple content creation pipelines.
• Generalist skill set, including but not limited to, 3D modeling, basic understanding of rigging and animation, and Unreal Blueprint experience.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
• Actively keeps a regular pulse on new games and player sentiment.
